We had a walking tour with Atheeq and it was such an enriching experience. Atheeq had so much modern and historical knowledge of the area and a very positive outlook on the community as a whole. It seemed as if he knew the answer to everything about Galle and Sri Lankan culture. I was travelling with my brother and Dad to which he could engage with each of us on a personal level about things we really cared about. After a stop off at an ice cream place and a leisurely stroll to see the sunset, Atheeq explained to us multitude of knowledge about environmental, socio-economic and historical facts to which I enjoyed throughly. And i normally dont care for tours at all. Atheeq provides a perfect tour for young adults who find it hard to engage with traditional tours as well as much older generations. I highly recommend him, we felt welcomed and he offered recommendations and services outside of the tour. He genuinely was hyped by topics of conversation which you dont find normally with guides. If you want to see and understand Galle i couldnt recommend anyone more.

We know, give me the mask, uh, cars and uh, painters, the traditional families from Mambalangoda. And uh, It's a dying art. People are losing interest in these little by little. So, we... And you have the art completely disappearing. The challenge in my approach was to try and make it a consumable experience for the travelers over here and to at the same time make it uh, economically viable and to keep the art uh, growing in. the communities itself so that more and more younger people will come and get involved in this art. So through this, we spoke with the, uh, we spoke with the Fort chief temple and with the blessings of him. We were able to create a beautiful experience where the covers and the painters can come to the temple in the fort, which is also somewhat convenient for most of the, or like where there is more high traction of tourists, or there, where they come over here. So they, and then from Ceylon Sol, we have someone who explains the art, the history, the stories, what it is because there's a little bit of a language barrier. and breach the, uh, barrier between the artist and the, uh, clients. So that's how it has been done.
